inception :
the first steps

An initial visit to your garden to meet you and discuss your requirements allows us to prepare a briefing document. Then, once the parameters of the brief are finalized, a fee schedule is prepared for agreement. The garden will require a measured survey. If it is a simple design or shape this would be completed by our in-house staff; if the garden is more complicated, a surveyor will prepare the survey on your behalf. Outline garden plan drawings are then prepared for discussion.

masterplan :
visualizing the design

To create the garden masterplan or outline plan, the requirements of the brief are analysed together with the information from the survey and the many other factors that need consideration, from soil conditions and the surrounding landscape to the architecture of the house. This masterplan will be accompanied by other visual material and basic planting concepts. This garden drawing can, if required, be used to discuss how the project might be phased.

planting plan :
detailing the soft landscaping

This easy-to-read, technical drawing shows the location and type of every plant, shrub and tree that has been agreed in principle on the masterplan, and the accompanying plant schedule lists the plant names, sizes and quantities. These documents are used when ordering and setting out the plants. Room4Growth can source, supply, set out and plant the plants once the hard landscaping is complete.

construction :
the keys to success

Detailed construction drawings and specifications will be required for garden structures such as walls, pergolas and water features. A setting out drawing (which will incorporate any amendments to the masterplan that have been agreed) is used by the landscape contractor to accurately lay out and then build the garden. In addition, Room4Growth are able to obtain competitive costings for the landscape works and can then monitor the project to ensure a satisfactory outcome.

maintenance :
working for the future

Straightforward maintenance guidelines can be prepared to ensure that you can easily care for your new garden. If your garden works are to be phased, Room4Growth will keep in touch to ensure that the follow-on development of the garden continues to match the masterplan.
